POSTER FROM PRESCOTT BUSH'S FIRST SUCCESSFUL RUN FOR U. S. SENATOR
Ceramic Elephant for Prescott Bush (Says "GOP" on Reverse)
These delightful little ceramic elephants were made up for almost all Republican U. S. Senators in the 1950's. The manufacturer only made one Democratic item ever--a grey donkey for John F. Kennedy (the manufacturer's son had served in the Navy with JFK).
Campaign Buttons for Senator Bush
All of the known buttons for the father of President Bush and grandfather of George W. Bush. Sen. Bush was close to President Dwight D. Eisenhower and many of Prescott's campaign items featured Bush with Ike.
One of Several Postcards Featuring Sen. Bush & Family
To left is future-President George Bush, Barbara, and at far left is George W. Bush. President Bush's daughter, Robin, is shown in Barbara's lap (Robin died of leukemia as a child). In a visit with Gov. Bush recently he explained to Ron Wade that the photo of him and his parents was added to the grouping later since George Bush was too busy with his fledgling new oil company in Midland to make it back to Connecticut for the photo. President Bush told Ron Wade in 1998 that he was just starting up his company at this time and had to spend his every waking moment getting it up and running.
